First Student of the Month Winners Announced
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe August “Students of the Month” were announced in September. The students that received this award were senior Cody Jedlicka, junior Cade Hoesly, and junior Shaylynn Marty.
Cody is the son of Rodney and Tasha Jedlicka. He participates in many different activities including basketball, FFA and One-Act.
Cody’s favorite class is Ag and his hobbies are tractor pulling and showing animals. Cody's plans for the future are to come back to his farm after school and help out.
Cody’s teachers said, “He is just a great kid who is nice to talk to. He always turns his work in on time and is very responsible. He truly listens to everything his teachers say in class. Also, everything he does with tractor pulling is really unique and impressive for a high school kid, even if it's not a school activity.”
Cade is the son of Markus and Kim Hoesly. His grandparents are Tom and Carol Hoesly.
Cade participates in many different activities such as FFA, Football, Track, and One-Act.
Cade Has a couple of different hobbies he enjoys, such as farming, reading, and watching movies. Cade's future goals are to attend Northeast Community College for something agriculture related or a trade. This is Cade's second time winning this award.
When asked about how it feels to win this award Cade said, “It feels great to win again.”
Here is what Cade’s teachers had to say: “Cade is just an all-around great student and great person. He leads by example by always doing his best, trying his hardest, and never complaining. He is friendly to all and just a great all-around person who definitely deserves recognition!”
Shaylynn is the daughter of Michael and Shay Marty. Her grandparents are Scott and Nancy Marty.
Shaylynn participates in many activities such as softball, girls’ basketball, One-Act, Speech, FCCLA, Band, and YAC.
Her favorite subject in school is science because she likes studying the different parts in a cell or getting a closer look at our world in science terms.
Some of her favorite hobbies to do outside of school are go for walks, read, and babysit. Shaylynn's future plans are to attend Northeast Community College then transfer to Methodist College in Omaha. She wants to become a labor and delivery nurse or a cardiologist.
When asked about how it feels to win this award, Shaylynn said, "Winning student of the month definitely feels rewarding to know that all the teachers and staff see how hard you're working and how much effort you're putting into your school work.”
Shaylynn’s teachers said, “Shaylynn always has a great attitude and tries her hardest in all she does. She is also polite, kind, very helpful, and a great kid to have in class.”
