Leigh FFA Chapter Update
The Leigh FFA chapter had a very busy summer, as always.
To kick off the summer, on May 27th and 28th, the officer team “cooked” at the COLT Conference in Aurora, Nebraska. There they gained leadership skills, learned what their upcoming officer duties are, and got to meet a lot of new friends! A familiar face was also seen at the conference, with the 2026-2027 State Secretary Luke Eisenmann holding down the Secretary room during the conference.
Next, in the hot month of July during the Colfax County Fair, Thursday morning started with the sheep show, the dairy goat show, and finally the goat show. Then, Friday morning consisted of the cattle show followed by the pig show on Saturday. Throughout the three days of showing, many great achievements were made by chapter members.
The Monday after the fair, the FFA chapter had their annual summer fun night, where they had a slide-n-slide kickball game, smores, burgers, and fun games. This was a great bonding time to get all the new and returning members excited to kick off the year.
To start the school year, the chapter is also excited to welcome a new ag teacher and FFA advisor, Mrs. Ellie Haan.
We hope it will be another great year filled with achievements for Leigh FFA!
