125 Little Pats Dancers Perform at Football Game!
On September 6, the Clarkson- Leigh Dance Team held a “In my Patriot Era” themed dance camp at the Leigh Elementary gym. The camp lasted from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. They then performed their dance at halftime of the football game against Howells-Dodge later that evening.
“It was a good turn out and it was a fun experience for everybody,” said junior Sydney Messerlie. “I’m glad we had the opportunity to connect with the younger kids!”
The dance team of Izzy Hollatz, Ella Urban, Baylee Settje, Kammy Held, Sydney Messerlie, Emma Gall, Hannah Cech, Jocelyn Donnelly, Lexis Gleason, Ava Kasik, Karly Wendt, Ava Baumert, Ella Baumert, Reann Bruhn, Rebecca Hastreiter, Ella Higby, Clair Holoubek, Daphne Jedlicka, and Halle Korth helped teach 125 dancers.
The kids were broken up into three groups based on their age. The preschool and Kindergarteners danced to Taylor Swift's "You belong With Me.” The 2nd and 3rd graders danced to “We’re Never Getting Back Together” and the 4th- 6th graders danced to “Paper Rings.” At the end everyone danced to “Shake It Off” as a big finale.
“We had a great turnout. We loved all the support from all Little Pats dancers. During the camp the kids learned two dances and played games. The high schoolers and little kids had a fun time bonding during camp!” said dance coach Steph Dostal.
