Cyclones Battle in Back-to-Back Games
The Cyclones had a busy start to their week with two back-to-back games on Monday August 24 and Tuesday August 25, against Boone Central and Pierce.
Unfortunately, both games ended in a loss for the Cyclones. Monday night ended with a loss 6-9 and Tuesday night ended 3-8.
Coach Drew Machmueller said about the Pierce game: “We were in control early. A couple defensive miscues along with stranding 7 runners in base allowed them to flip things a little in us in the middle innings” about the Boone Central game. He also said, “We put a lot of balls in play against pierce but many tended to be right at their defenders. Didn’t find the gaps as they were able to.”
Junior Shaylynn Marty said, “While the games didn’t end the way that we wanted them to, they were good learning opportunities and we are ready to play this weekend in Wisner.”
