New Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Kari Bazata
Launch the media gallery 1 playerLeigh Community Schools started the new 2026-2027 school year with many new amazing staff members, one of them being Mrs. Kari Bazata. Kari came to us from Schuyler Elementary School where she taught 3rd grade for six years.
Kari and her husband Jarrod, live on a farm south of Howells. They have a son named Beau, who will be turning one in October. Outside of school, they raise sheep and have two dogs. Kari graduated from the University of Omaha in 2020 with her Bachelor’s Degree. She also has her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Wayne State College in 2023.
This year Kari is teaching 4th grade Reading and ELA, along with 5th grade reading. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading books, and going on walks with her son Beau. She also loves coffee and enjoys trying out new coffee places.
About the new school year, Mrs. Bazata said, “The school year has been off to a great start and I am learning through the staff and students about what makes Leigh Community Schools a great place to be. I have enjoyed getting to know all of my students so far this school year and love seeing the relationships that the staff and students have together.”
