JH VB Continues to Win
On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the Junior High Girls Volleyball played Winside in junior high volleyball. Following that, on September 17, the they played Aquinas.
The Panthers fought hard against Winside and won two out of the three games.
The A team won in two sets. 25-23, 17-25, and 15-10. The B team won in two sets 25-18, 25-17. The C team lost one set 25-14
The Panthers also fought hard against Aquinas and won all three of their games.
The A team won two sets and lost one, 25-18, 24-26,15-5. The B team won both their sets, 25-9, 25-17.
The C team won 2 sets and lost one, 25-18, 24-26, 15-4.
There are 23 players out for junior volleyball.
The eighth-grade volleyball players include Eisley Urban, Emery Malena, Harper Wendt, Kinna Closson, Layla Hollatz, Livia Cash, Mariah Kasik, and Olivia Hake.
The seventh-grade volleyball players include Adalee Brugman, Allisyn Zabka, Arianna Wiese, Ava Bahns, Caitlyn Hastreiter, Cambree Brabec, Camila Hernandez, Julia Hernandez-Zacarias, Kalyn Beller, Katelyn Lange, Kinlee Olson, Lakin Mullenhoff, Presley Wietfeld, Sophie Loeske, and Taytum Larson.
They are coached this year by Mr. Seth Cash and Mrs. Jennifer Maliha.
Seventh-grader Kinlee Olson stated,” We played together, stayed positive, and with a little bit of hustle we won.”
Eighth-grader Layla Hollatz stated,”We worked together very well and played a good defensive game. We started the game strong and fought back when we got down in the second set. Everyone worked hard to complete the match. Can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out!”
Coach Maliha stated, "On the A team our serving wasn't the greatest against Winside but we were able to work on defense and win the sets we needed to. Our B team is working together really well and the movement on their court is improving. Our C team is improving every week."
