FCCLA Attends Fall Conference
On September 16, the Leigh FCCLA officer team had the chance to go to Wayne State College to attend the Fall Leadership Conference. This event was made to encourage students to use teamwork and communication throughout many different activities.
During the conference members were involved in many different breakout sessions. These sessions consisted of activities that the members were involved in that enhanced their problem-solving skills and critical thinking as well. Members gained knowledge about STAR events and how to work through every category of the planning process.
During this workshop members were able to work together with other schools as well. This created new relations and gave the chapters new strategies that they learned that they could apply to their own chapter.
Mrs. Hillen, Chapter Adviser, shared her thoughts on the day: "The chapter officer team has the great opportunity to attend FLC this year. They made great use of the time provided to network, grow their leadership skills, and set goals for the year ahead."
