Patriots Pick Up Senior Night Win

On Thursday October 10th, the Patriot volleyball team played the Archangels Catholic Defenders (formerly the St. Francis Flyers). The Patriots came out with the sweep on all three levels, C team, JV, and Varsity.

The varsity team easily defeated the Defenders in all three sets with scores of 25-7, 25-14, 25-12. It was an all-around team effort to take the game in three sets.

Junior Ava Kasik said, "Seeing the larger crowd and the support from our community, we started off with a lot of energy. We went on some long runs that helped us claim the win."

Baylee Settje dominated the net with 14 kills, many delivered from Izabel Hollatz leading the team in assists with 20. Brynn Settje and Ava Kasik added 21 and 18 digs to come out with the win. The Patriots’ record is now 24-2.

“It was fun to see the girls play up to their potential and take care of business early. It's always nice when we are able to pick up another win, especially on a night when we are honoring the seniors and all of the hard work that they have put in over the years. I know the girls are eager for the conference tournament to get started next week. Hopefully we can take some of the momentum from tonight's win and carry it forward, stated Assistant Coach Tyler Brester.

The game in Leigh marked the final regular season home game of the season, and the team’s six seniors were honored, including Baylee Settje, Brynn Settje, Izzy Hollatz, Makenna Hake, Cadence Indra, and Rylee Balzer.
