Patriots Prevail in Battle of Top Teams
On Thursday September 19th the Patriot volleyball team traveled to Humphrey to take on the Bulldogs and left with yet another win against another unbeaten team
The night started off on the rocks with a C-team loss but the JV lightened up the mood with a sweep.
The varsity went home with a 4 set battle to make their record 14-0. The Patriots won the first set 25-20, lost the second set 14-25, and then came back and won the third set 25-23. They finished the night easily winning the fourth and final set 25-15.
Sophomore Maizie Stoklasa lead the team with 13 kills. Senior Baylee Settje was not far behind at all with 12 kills, and Junior Ava Kasik had 10 kills. Seniors Brynn Settje and Izzy Hollatz tied with 7 kills each.
Junior Kendall Schneider ended the night with 23 incredible assists. Izzy Hollatz not falling short with a whopping 22 assists. Cadence Indra led the team with 25 digs. Brynn Settje making her comeback with 23 digs of the night.
Here is what coach Tyler Brester had to say about the HLA game: “The volleyball season is off to a great start. We were looking forward to playing a team as talented as HLHF and very pleased to get out of there with a four-set win. I wanted to give a special shout out to the student section for bringing lots of energy and helping the team secure the victory. All levels have been working really hard and it's nice for them to see it starting to pay off.”
