Patriots Pick Up 2 Wins at Double Dual
On September 10th, the Patriots traveled to Lyons to play in a double dual. We played against Wisner-Pilger and Lyons-Decatur, but West Point-Beemer was also present at the dual.
Coach Mr. Brester said, “The girls were ready to compete in this dual. We came out with a high mindset, and ended up dominating. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this team.”
The match against Wisner-Pilger was the toughest of the night, but the Patriots didn’t let that stop them. Baylee Settje came out ready to hit and ended the game with 12 kills. Everyone got an opportunity to play in this game, and they played their all-time best.
The Patriots ended up beating the Gators in two sets.
The Patriots also played against Lyons-Decatur. This game was another opportunity for everyone to get on the floor. The Patriots really stood out in this match. Baylee Settje and Ava Kasik both had the high kills for the night, and Ava Kasik also had the high for digs.

“We knew going into the Lyons-Decatur game we were going to have to find our own energy and we did exactly that, resulting in a win,” senior Baylee Settje said. “We carried our energy into the Wisner-Pilger Game. It was a little tougher, but we worked well as a team and pulled through with the win. Overall, it was a successful day and gave a lot of girls different opportunities.”
