Patriots Can’t Pull Off Back-to-Back O-C Wins

After coming off of the high of winning the conference tournament just a few days prior, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, the Clarkson-Leigh Patriot volleyball team’s regular season ended in disappointment with a loss to the team they had just beaten in the conference championship, the Oakland-Craig Knights.

The night started off with JV, who unfortunately lost in 3 sets. This was only the third loss of the season for the JV team, who finished out a very successful year.  Their final season record ended 15-3, which signifies high hopes for the future of Patriot volleyball!

Next, the varsity also unfortunately lost in 4 sets.

Izabel Hollatz, a senior at LHS said, “I thought that we didn't have our best game, but we definitely tried our best. Our defense wasn't able to stop their hitters, and we played a lot out of system. We need to use this game as a learning experience going forward into the postseason.”

The Patriots came out the first set losing 15-25. The second set the Patriots won 25-17. In the 3rd set, the Patriots also lost, 18-25. The 4th set was much the same with the Patriots losing 19-25.

The Patriots ended their regular season with an awesome 27-3 record.

Assistant coach Tyler Brester said, “I was happy to see our girls battle all the way until the end. Oakland Criag produced a loud and crazy environment, which forced us to step outside of our comfort zone. It was a good match for us as we prepare to make a run in the postseason.”
