Back-to-Back Stanton Tourney Champs!

After a big win against the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs on Thursday, the Patriot volleyball team remained undefeated, ready for the competition of a challenging Stanton tournament on September 21st.

They were seeded #2 in the tournament facing the Arlington Eagles in their first game of the tournament. They started the day off strong, defeating the Eagles in the first set 25-8 and in the second set 25-13.

Izabel Hollatz led the Patriots in kills with 6 while Kendall Schneider delivered 11 assists, leading the team.

Following the win over the Eagles, the Patriots went on to face the Stanton Mustangs for the second time this season. The Patriots continued to push and defeated the Mustangs in two sets, 25-14 and 25-22.

Again, Izabel Hollatz led the Patriots with kills but this time with 10, along with Cadence Indra contributing 12 digs.

In the championship game, the Patriots took on the Crofton Warriors. This was a very challenging and competitive game for the Patriots. Both sets were very tight right until the last second when the Patriots pulled away. The first set ended with a score of 25-22 and the second set was 25-23. This makes the Patriots back-to-back Stanton tournament champions!

In this match against the Warriors, Hollatz led the team in kills with 9, assists with 12, and digs with 10.

Junior setter/right side Izabel Hollatz said, “I thought that we played very well at the Stanton tournament! We were able to knock off Arlington, Stanton, and Crofton, continuing our successful season so far. We locked down on defense and played with a lot of energy to win this tournament!”

Assistant coach, Brianne Bachman stated, “Varsity volleyball played at the Stanton tournament this weekend and came away champions. They played a few tough games and showed just how strong of a team they are. It’s fun to see them play hard, have fun, and play some great volleyball. They continue to show that they want to make it back to Lincoln at the end of season and this weekend was a showcase of the great volleyball they are capable of playing. I am looking forward to some great games coming up soon. Go patriots!”

The Patriots continue their undefeated season at 14-0!
