BBB Falls to Mead in Sub-Districts

After a tough season, the boys’ basketball played their final game of the year on February 24 against the Mead Raiders for sub-districts in Yutan.

The Patriots were the #6 seed of the C2-2 sub district that also included #1 Yutan, #2 Oakland-Craig, #3 Mead, #4 Shelby/Rising City, and #5 Cornerstone Christian.

Mead entered the match 14-10 on the season, but the Patriots were determined to give them a run for their money.  They ended the first quarter only 6 points behind, but the second quarter was very rough, as they were outscored 21-8.  They outscored Mead in the third, but it wasn’t enough to stage a comeback, as they ended up losing 54-76.

The Patriots were led by Wyatt Crosley, who put up 17 points and 4 rebounds.  Kyle McMullin played a solid all-around game with 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, and Korbin Lemburg scored in double digits with 10.

“I was very proud of our effort,” Head Coach Jeff Bachman said. “Our boys battled and ended our season on a high note. I really enjoyed this group of guys and I hate to see the season end early.”

“We put up a good effort to end the season,” sophomore Blake Loseke said. “I wish we could have won so we could keep playing, but we just had a few costly mistakes that cost us the game. We played with all the effort we had, but we just couldn't put together a full 32 minutes of basketball.”

The Patriots finish their season 4-19.
