JH Girls BB Has Successful Week

Junior high girls’ basketball battled it out both Monday and Thursday night.

On January 13, at 6 PM the Patriot girls’ basketball team went against the Stanton Mustangs. The Girls A team had a heartbreaking loss of 21-30 and the Girls B team won 13-0 against the Mustangs.

7th grader Daisy Van Dyke said about the game that, “The game against Stanton was pretty good, I didn't score any points but the B team won. The coaches and my other teammates said I did a great job and that we all played really well that game.”

On January 16, at 4:30 PM the Patriot Girls basketball team went against Shelby/Rising City Huskies. The girls A team won a close game of 26-25, and the girls B team had a big win of 11-1 to Shelby/Rising City.

Patriot girls basketball coach, Melissa Brabec, said, “The girls played with intensity, energy, and teamwork.  Both games, they came out strong and didn't give up and it showed throughout the games. They had great offensive rebounds, looks inside and hustled on defense.  They have made great growth throughout the year and we hope to finish the season strong!”

Good job and good luck to the junior high Patriot girls!
