JH BBB Finishes Season
The Clarkson-Leigh Junior-High boys’ basketball team finished the season with their last two games earlier this month. They played Archangels Catholic on Monday, February 10 and the Madison Dragons on Thursday, February 13.
They had two losses against Archangels Catholic and two wins against the Madison Dragons. The teams had a few decent games to finish off the season.
Against Archangels Catholic the B-team lost 4-25 and the A-team lost 21-45. Grayson Loseke says, “We tried our best, but in the end, it just wasn’t enough to come out with the win.”
Then, soon after, the boys had to play the Dragons on Thursday. This was a great game to end the season on, seeing as the B-team won 25-8 and the A-team won 58-9.
Overall, the boys had a fairly decent season, and just wish they had a better record to show for it. The A-team finished with a 3-8 record, the B-team with a 5-6 record, and the C-team with a 2-3 record. Eighth-grader Wyatt Eisenmann said, “In these final games, we executed like we needed to win the games. It was great to get two wins at the end of the season.”
Coach Tyler Brester says to recap the season, “It was fun to see the JH boys grow and develop over the course of the season. If they continue to put in the hard work during the off season, the Patriot Junior High teams will be in good hands in the future.”
Seventh-grader Ryan McMullin said, “This season was a great learning experience for us. We were able to improve massively from the start of the season to the finish.”
