JH Girls BBall Starts Season
The junior high basketball team started their season off at Humphrey in a tournament on November 23. They lost to Battle Creek 29-42 and Humphrey 8-30.
“The girls started their junior high season with the tough Humphrey junior high basketball tournament,” Coach Hiatt said. “We came out at the beginning of the day with some first-game jitters but settled in after the first quarter. We handled the basketball better as the day went on, and the girls played well passing the basketball and getting good shots. The team works hard and will look to continue to improve as the season progresses.”
8th Grader Averi Clausen stated, “We honestly played so well against Battle Creek. The outcome in our game wasn't what we hoped for, but we played better than expected against a really good team. We were down about 20 before the fourth quarter, but then towards the end we played really well and didn't get beat by 20 like before the fourth quarter. After that loss, we played Humphrey Lindsay. That game was rough. We did some really good things, but we also have lots of things to improve on. We will continue to improve and hopefully get a win soon!”
