Girls’ Golf Team Competes in Scramble

The girls’ golf team teed off for the first time this season in a best ball golf scramble in a golf scramble in Schuyler on Saturday, August 24.

They had four schools there: Clarkson-Leigh, Schuyler, Shelby-Rising City, and Standing Bear.

A four-person team from Standing Bear and Clarkson-Leigh had a group tie for first.

Coach Held stated, “I really enjoyed the golf scramble in Schuyler.  I felt it was a nice relaxing way to start the season where everyone could compete, but not feel the pressure of the score relying solely on one person. It also was a great way to get our new golfers into competition with less stress.  We had one group tie for first, and another was third, so we competed very well.”

"The golf scramble was a nice experience for everyone on the team. It was a nice learning experience for the new golfers. The team did very well at the scramble with scoring a few of the highest scores,’ said senior, Emily Stender.
