Record Number of Girls on Patriot Golf Team

This year’s Patriot girls’ golf team has a record number of members at a total of total 16 girls. Even more girls than last year!

The girls’ golf team consists of seven senior girls: Rosie Guillen, Emily Stender, Alisyn Lich, Brianne Kuhr, Ella Urban, Keeley Campbell, Paige Kurpgeweit.

Six girls for the juniors consist of Sophie Morfeld, Shayleigh McAllister, Elizabeth Hoffman, Sydney Messerlie, Emilie Hajek, and Hadley Dlouhy.

Ella Higby and Halle Korth make up the sophomores this year, and there are no freshman golf team members.

The girls are coached by Mrs. Michelle Held and Mrs. Lynn Morfeld. Mr. Bill Morris also assists during the school year and Mr. Mike Myers assisted over the summer.

When speaking about the upcoming season, Mrs. Held said, “First off, I have to share that the Patriot Girls Golf Team of 2023 received an Academic Excellence Award from NSAA.  Onto this year, I am super excited about the golf team this year!  We have 16 girls out, which is the most ever for Patriot Girls Golf.  We have 9 returning letter winners and 6 returning seniors. With this strong leadership, we look for great things to happen this year!”

“I think that this season is going to go really well, especially because we have 16 girls out for the team. I am excited to see how much we grow over the course of the season, and am excited for what is to come!”, says senior Ella Urban.

The girls will start off the season with their first meet September 3rd triangular at Stanton.
