Girls’ Golf Season Forges Ahead!
The girls’ golf team has had a great season so far, and on September 23 and 24th, the JV had back-to-back meets, with the varsity team joining the home meet in Leigh.
The JV played in the Stanton Quad, with Stanton, Oakland-Craig, and Pender. Everyone golfed very well, with Rosie Villeda-Guillen getting 5th place out of the whole meet with a 55.
The whole team finally got to play on their home course against Stanton and Humphrey. Everyone improved and also showed amazing growth from the start of the season. The meet ended with Liz Hoffman getting 5th place with a 55 and Sydney Messerlie getting 3rd place with a 54.
Sophomore Hannah Martensen stated, "This week we had two meets back to back at Stanton and Leigh. I thought we excelled and improved tremendously on our putting skills and areas of improvement girls needed to work on. I thought our first home meet went well with our improving scores and the amount of fun it was to compete!"
