Girls Golf Wins Home “Conference” Invite!

The Patriot Girls Golf team had an 18-hole meet in Leigh on Friday, September 27. The meet included Clarkson-Leigh, Pender, Stanton, Oakland, and Humphrey-Lindsay Academy.

The Clarkson-Leigh A team won the meet scoring a 453! The Clarkson-Leigh B team finished 4th with a 495.

The Patriot varsity golfers consisted of Emilie Hajek scoring a 109, Halle Korth scoring a 113, Brianne Kuhr scoring a 115, Hadley Dlouhy scoring a 116, and Shaleigh McAllister scoring a 132.

The Patriot JV golfers consisted of Rosie Villeda-Guillen scoring 109, Liz Hoffman shooting 115, Sophia Morefeld scoring 121, Ella Urban scoring 139, and Alisyn Lich shooting 145.

“The golf girls did really well. Our varsity team got first overall and JV got fourth. It was a beautiful day to go golfing. Everyone had a good time and it was enjoyable for all. It went faster than expected and everyone had fun,” said Alisyn Lich.

Girls Golf Coach Lynn Morefeld said, “Hosting an 18-hole event was new to us, but everything went smoothly and the weather was beautiful (especially in the morning).  This invite replaced the conference tournament, as there were not enough teams in the conference to host a true conference tournament. But we hope we can get back a conference tournament next year with the increased interest in girls' golf in our area. We also saw season "bests" from Liz Hoffman, Halle Korth, Brianne Kuhr, and Rosie Villeda-Guillen (who tied for 5th with Emilie Hajek). Thanks to those who came out and supported the Patriot golfers and to Club 91 for the work they put in for a great day.”
