SB Struggles to Find Momentum

By: Reese Bruhn, junior LHS journalism staff writer on September 29, 2025

The Highway 91 Cyclones were set to meet up with the Blue River Panthers on Tuesday, September 2. Unfortunately, the games were postponed to Saturday due to weather conditions. The Panthers took a commanding lead at the beginning and held onto it to defeat the Cyclones 0-8.

The Cyclones finished up their week on September 4th against the Logan View Scribner Snyder Raiders. Unfortunately, the Cyclones’ offense couldn’t get momentum, and they came up with another 0-8 loss.

The Cyclones had another tough matchup with the Ponca Indians on Monday, September 9th. The Cyclones fought hard in the 7th inning with a 5-run rally, but unfortunately fell short in the end.

Head coach Drew Machmueller said that the team “struggled to get consistent hits on the offensive side while not being able to make enough plays on defense.”

Senior Nevaeh Zulkoski said, “I think all in all we played some good games. Despite the outcome, I think the team is coming along and we're looking forward to our upcoming games.”
