Cyclones Pick Up Home Win
The Highway 91 Cyclone softball team is starting off the season with a roar. On September 5th in Leigh both the junior varsity and varsity teams battled hard against Blue River and won.
The junior varsity team blew the other team out of the water. In the top of the 3rd inning the junior varsity scored a whopping 13 runs. Overall they ended with a score of 16-3.
The varsity girls started off strong, starting with a score of 4-1 in the top of the 2nd inning. Blue River fought back hard and caught the lead at the bottom of the fourth inning with a new score of 4-7. Overall, both teams played great ball, but the Highway 91 Cyclones brought their all for the win with the ending score of 11-8.
Junior Jocelyn Donnely said, “I think that our bats really got going throughout the game, which boosted our confidence. I am really proud of how our girls played in this home win and I am excited for what is next to come.”
So far in the season the Cyclones have a 2-5 record.
