Twin River Decisively Defeats Cyclones
On September 12th, the Cyclone Softball team traveled to Genoa to compete against the Twin River Titans. This game, unfortunately, didn’t go the way they planned, but they were able to learn a lot from the experience.
The players struggled to get going throughout this game, so the ending did not end up in their favor. They struggled getting hits, and their defense was an issue at some points in the game, so this didn’t help them out.
They tried to push through, but their efforts weren’t quite enough. The final score of this game was 0-13.
Grace Hansen, a sophomore from Leigh, said, “Even though we didn’t end up with the result we wanted, we still learned a lot from our mistakes. We struggled defensively, and our bats were slow. Getting the ball in play was something we really had problems with.”
When asked his thoughts about the game, head coach Drew Machmueller said, “We let things get away from us pretty early on. We made some mistakes on defense and struggled to get our bats rolling. We just need to learn from those mistakes and continue to grow as a team.”
