JV FB Comes to an End
On Monday October 7th the Clarkson Leigh Patriot JV football team traveled to Howells Dodge to play against the Jaguars.
The JV boys fought hard against Howells-Dodge but came up short.
Trevor Hoffman, a freshman on the team, said, “It was a tough game. They had a good team, but we still fought the entire game. We now need to get ready for Friday and the upcoming Monday.”
JV Coach Mr. Jarrod Bazata said,” Even though we lost 38-0, the boys have had better outings as a team. We also did some really good things and not-so-good things. He also said that games like these help the boys learn more about adversity.”
The following Monday, the Patriots ended their season on October 14, 2024.
Unfortunately, they lost another game, but they still had a great season and had some great games.
Coach Bazata also said, “The JV season finished up this week at David City. It was a rough go as we were down quite a few kids due to injuries but also just the young team that we have. We have a lot of young kids that are playing varsity that it would be nice to have for JV, but we made due with what we had.’’
He also said that the kids played hard all season and definitely improved their play. When it comes to JV games that's all we can ask for. Yes, winning is fun, but I would rather lose in JV this year and see improvement out of the kids for varsity rather than win in JV but then have the kids show no improvement in their game for the future.
Overall, the JV boys have had a good season and the freshman can’t wait for next year.
