Patriots Dismantle Dragons

On Friday, September 27, the Madison Dragons traveled to Clarkson, Nebraska, to play the Clarkson-Leigh Patriots in a varsity football game. The Patriots scored first, but the Dragons struck right back on the next possession with a touchdown pass.

The Patriots controlled the game, aside from a couple of scoring plays from the Dragons. The Patriots offense rolled in the first half with a score of 64-20 at halftime.

The Patriots continued the scoring in the second half, scoring 20 points to the Dragons 6. The final score ended up being 84-26. The Patriots’ strong performance led them to recording their second straight win of the season.

The Patriots record now stands at 2-3 heading into October.

Head Coach Jim Clarkson said, “It was a good Homecoming win! It was good to stack a couple wins together, we need to continue to improve but we feel like we are heading in the right direction.”

Junior Luke Eisenmann said, “It was a very good game. We learned a lot as a team, and

we kicked some butt and took some names.”

The Patriots will now play the Humphrey/Lindsay Academy Bulldogs on October 4, 2024 in Humphrey, Nebraska.
