JVs Lose in Tight Game
The Clarkson Leigh JV football team traveled to Shelby on September 23rd to take on the Shelby-Rising City Huskies.
The patriots took an early lead when freshman Cash Fehringer scored on the first play. After a Shelby turnover, the Patriots scored again to make it a 14-0 game. The score remained the same for the rest of the half.
After the half, Shelby-Rising City would tie the game up late in the fourth. With the score tied up the huskies would score on a last-minute punt return to win the game.
Freshman Trevor Hoffman stated “it was a good learning experience for all the young guys even if it didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to.”
The Patriot JV team is 1-1 on the season in official games. Their other games have been modified “triangular” matchups.
