More FFA Members Qualify for State!
On Tuesday, March 11, the Leigh FFA members traveled to Central Community College to compete at part two of the district CDE competition. A total of 32 members participated in at least one event, and multiple in two events.
At this round of CDEs, the Poultry Evaluation team placed 1st with Carmen Malena, Kaylee Brabec, Reese Wietfeld, and Kammy Held qualifying for state.
The Farm Management team also placed 1st with Luke Eisenmann, Brianne Kuhr, Brayden Loseke, and Kyle McMullin qualifying for state.
Leigh had many competitors qualify for state at various events throughout the year, and the Leigh FFA had a great run this whole year at all our competitions. We wish everyone the best of luck at our next stop, state!
Sophomore Hannah Martensen stated, "As a chapter I thought everyone did extremely well in the second round of CDE's considering competition was tough. I'm proud of our two teams qualifying for the state convention in April, but looking at the results, everyone who competed represented the chapter well. Competing in CDE's is always great because you get to learn more about a topic, and it's an opportunity to qualify for state!"
