FFA Greenhand Day Is Learning Experience for New Members

On September 4th, 2024, five freshman, four sophomores, and one junior in FFA attended Greenhand Day at Central Community College in Columbus, Nebraska.

This included Sadie Brabec, Tyce Larson, Caleb Settje, Cade Hoesly, James Moore, Ben Rodenburg, Cody Jedlicka, Blake Loseke, Easton Brabec, and Brayden Loseke.

Greenhand Day is held each year for FFA students to attend workshops on many different topics learning what FFA is about. Students from the Leigh chapter interacted with multiple different schools from Northeast Nebraska. This was a great introduction for our incoming freshman and a refresher for the sophomore who decided to attend for their second year in a row. Possibilities of FFA were shown to all students throughout the day.

Freshman Sadie Brabec stated, ”Greenhand Day was not only a great time for us to learn, but it also let us, first year FFA  members meet new people that are just like us. While having fun we also learned a lot of interesting FFA activities that FFA members can be involved in.”

Cody Jedlicka, a sophomore, stated, “It was really fun and I want to go again next year.”
