FFA Members Attend Husker Harvest Days

On Wednesday, September 11, 29 members of the Leigh FFA Chapter traveled to Grand Island to attend Husker Harvest Days. Husker Harvest Days took place over the course of three days from September 10 to September 12, 2024.

At Husker Harvest Days, big-name companies showcase their equipment and products to an agricultural-based audience. Many big-name companies like Case-IH, Fendt, Dekalb, Big Iron, and Kubota were at Husker Harvest Days. Field demonstrations, cattle handling, education, exhibits, and guest speakers were also all present at Husker Harvest Days.

Because Husker Harvest Days is the world's biggest irrigated working farm show, new companies and areas of interest did not disappoint!

FFA members got the chance to earn free prizes if they participated in answering questions right or competed in competition-based activities. These companies often gave out free shirts, buckets, and items that correlated with their company.

Apart from visiting companies and winning free prizes, the chapter also contributed to a good cause. Each member brought in non-perishable food items as admission to get in for free.

“It was a cool experience to be able to see a lot of the businesses that are a part of Nebraska and its economy,” sophomore Blake Loseke said.

Sophomore FFA member Ben Rodenburg also enjoyed the day.

“I enjoyed being able to walk around with my friends and see all of the current and future innovative farming technology, and being able to meet lots of cool exhibitors,” he said.
