The following wrestlers received 2nd place at the meet: McCoy Svehla, Brinx Rayback, Deekan Beller, Dayne Beller, Keylen Fischer, William Vrba, Drextyn Bachman, Linden Urban, Weston Herink, Collins Fischer, Aria Gomez, Cody Wendt, Brantly Went, Kynason Nettleton-Myers, and Brecken Went.

These wrestlers received 1st place at the meet: Evan Wietfeld, Jameson Bos, Cooper Fehringer, Jase Koehn, Mason Faltys, and Brylen Wietfeld.

Leigh athletic director and principal Mr. Andrew Faltys said, “I felt like the tournament went really smooth. There were a few hiccups but nothing too big. For it being the first year, we had about 250 competitors, which was fantastic considering the timing of the tournament. Next year, we are looking at making it bigger and it will move to the day after the high school tournament on February 7th.”

Youth coach Mr. Jorge Gomez stated, “It was our first tournament that we held as a club team and it ran great. We usually do dual tournaments, but we wanted to do something different this year. I was very proud with all our wrestlers this year. From first-year wrestlers to wrestlers that have been wrestling since they were 3, they all did great. Each year our club grows and grows, and kids are really starting to have fun with a great sport. Everyone left it on the mat and wrestled tough, which had us as runner-up as a team. Can’t wait till next year.”
