Wrestlers Compete at N-O
On Saturday January 25, the Patriot wrestling team traveled to Neligh-Oakdale. It was a great opportunity for the few wrestlers to get some competition in.
Assistant coach Mr. Jorge Gomez said, “The Neligh tournament was a good test for us as we get to see district competition. We battled tough and got some good wins, but we had only had 3 wrestlers compete due to injuries or illness. Junior Levi Gall got first and wrestled some very good opponents. Brett Wemhoff didn’t place but won a match which gives the team lots of confidence. Brett went 1-2 and has improved so much from last year. Hunter Gall also didn’t place, he went 0-2. Hunter has surprised us a lot this year with being able to beat some real good seniors.”
The Patriots wrestling team will continue to keep pushing forward with their season as they compete next at Lyons-Decatur.
