Senior Spotlight: Riley Van Dyke

On May 25, 2007, in Columbus, Nebraska, Casey and Gina Van Dyke welcomed their son, Riley Michael Van Dyke to their family.

Riley has 1 younger and 1 older sister: Zoey is 19 and Daisy is 12 and in seventh-grade.

Riley’s grandparents are Glen and Amy Van Dyke of Norfolk and Dave and the late Judy Olmer of Leigh.

Riley also has four pets to complete his family: Patches, Tiger, Cricket, and Beans.

Throughout Riley’s high school career, he has been involved in One-Act for 1 year, Stream Team for 3 years, Vision Board for 1 year, and Choir for 2 years.

Honors Riley has earned throughout high school include Outstanding Tech Crew Member at Conference One Act and “Student of the Month” two times.

Riley’s favorite class in school is History.  His favorite song is “Hurricane” by Luke Combs, and his favorite sports’ team is the Nebraska Huskers.

His bad habit is getting distracted pretty easily.

After graduating high school, Riley’s plans to attend to Northeast Community College to obtain a degree in Information Technology.

If Riley won the lottery, he says he would invest in the stock market and save the rest in the bank.

If Riley could travel anywhere in the world, he would travel to Alaska because he thinks it would be cool to live there or New Zealand to experience the dark nights and to take cool pictures of the night sky there.

On Riley’s bucket list he says he hopes to get married, raise a family, and get a well-paying job that he enjoys.

Before he graduates, Riley’s advice to the underclassmen is “Get along with your classmates because before you know it, it's almost the end of senior year and you may never see them all ever again.”

We wish Riley the best of luck in his future endeavors!
