New Year, New Coach, New Horizons!
LHS Speech Team Starts Season
The LHS speech team has kicked off a brand-new season!
This year’s team is the biggest team we have had in many years with 19 competitors. There is also a new coach, Mr. Ethan Hathaway. He is assisted by Mrs. Kim Loseke.
Brianne Kuhr is the lone senior leader on this year’s team. The juniors include Jocelyn Donnelly, Lexis Gleason, Liz Hoffman, Luke Eisenmann, Brett Wemhoff, Brayden Loseke, and Sydney Messerlie. Sophomores are Wyatt Langhorst, Kaylee Brabec, James Moore, and Blake Loseke. Finally, the freshmen include Kaycee Lange, Vivian Bunner, Shaylynn Marty, Trevor Hoffman, Cade Hoesly, Ariyah Ross, and Tyce Larson.
The team had their first competition on Saturday, January 18th at Howells-Dodge in a “mini-meet” against H-D, Madison, and Pender. This meet was a great chance for everyone to get their feet wet for the season and begin presenting their events.
Senior Brianne Kuhr said, “I am excited to have a great number of students out for speech this year. We have individuals in many different events, and I am happy to see underclassmen joining speech. I am looking forward to see everyone’s success at the upcoming speech meets this year.”
