One of these dancers and team captain Kammy Held stated, “This was our second year of state dance, and we had fun going down to Grand Island. The dance team has definitely improved since last year, and it was exciting to be on the big stage. State dance is always something that the dance team looks forward to doing at the end of their season.”
The dance team showcased two of their dances in the Hip Hop and Pom categories competing in class C1. They first performed their hip hop and then followed with pom against many other teams. Although the team didn't place in the top five it was a great experience to further improve the team for next year.
3rd Grade teacher at Leigh and head dance coach Stephanie Dostal stated, “The girls have worked really hard all year and it was so fun to see them shine on stage. These girls have improved so much and work so well together as a team which made the whole experience!”
