In the Spotlight: Patriot Dance Team

With 19 girls on this year’s squad, there is a lot of excitement as they take to the field at each home football game this fall. The team captains this year are seniors Kammy Held and Emma Gall. Steph Dostal is in her third year as head coach. The team consists of five seniors: Kammy Held, Baylee Settje, Ella Urban, Izzy Hollatz, and Emma Gall. There are six juniors including Ava Kasik, Karly Wendt, Lexis Gleason, Sydney Messerlie, Jocelyn Donnelly, and Hannah Cech. Ella Higby, Daphne Jedlicka, Halle Korth, Reann Bruhn, Rebecca Hastreiter, Ava Baumert, Ella Baumert, and Claire Holoubek are the eight sophomores. There are no freshmen on this year’s squad. The Patriot Dance Team does numerous things throughout the school year including performing at all home football and basketball games and holding a dance camp for all of the Clarkson and Leigh elementary students. This year 120 Little Pats dancers performed at the football dance campl. When asked about the Dance Team, senior captain Kammy Held said, “We have a lot of girls this year on the dance team, and I think this is a very elite group. I’m excited to see the outcome of the season and cheer on the Patriots.” Head coach Steph Dostal said, “This year is off to a great start, and we enjoy dancing at all the home games! We have been performing at our home football games this year and will continue performing at our home basketball this winter. We plan to take a hip hop and Pom routine to state again this year in February. Along with state, we plan to go to a few other competitions! We have been doing a few fundraisers including face painting and a car wash. We will also be selling shirts in the next few weeks. I am excited to see the growth of this team continue throughout the year!” on October 21, 2024
