Five Qualify for WSC Choir

Some of the students in the Leigh High School choir were honored to qualify for the WSC Honor Choir that was held on Friday, January 1.

The students had to try out to be part of this choir. Amaiya Ross, Paige Kurpgeweit, Sydney Messerlie, Ariyah Ross, and Vivian Bunner were the students from Leigh who qualified.

They joined other students from across Nebraska, and even some from Iowa and South Dakota.  They were directed by Dr. Matthew Armstrong.  Rehearsals started at 9 am and they had a concert later that night in WSC’s Ramsay Theater.

They performed the songs “Lunar Lullaby,” “Where the Light Begins,” “Yo Le Canto,” and “Thankful.”

“I had a lot of fun at the honor choir, and I learned a lot,” ninth grader Ariyah Ross said. “It was a great experience!”
