LCS Starts “Student of the Month” Award

This year, the Leigh Elementary School is starting a new tradition. Just like the high school, they have started recognizing elementary students for their hard work. The elementary began “Students of the Month” this month.  This award recognizes students for being great role models, classmates, students, and friends.

The elementary teachers came up with the idea from the Leigh High School. The elementary staff thought that it would be a great way to recognize students at the elementary school for all of their great work. The teachers wanted to show the students that they are noticed for what they do.

The selected students receive this award by being noticed by teachers, administrators, and paras for their outstanding efforts to be great kids. Fifth-grade teacher, Mrs. Robin Urban said, “We have so many students that are well deserving of receiving a positive shout-out for what they do during their school day. Our students are great and we want to share that with them, with their parents and the community.

Twelve students in Kindergarten through sixth grade received the award this month. The recipients include kindergarteners Drextyn Bachman, Berkley Went, and Kael Fuhr; first graders Ainsley Vanderslice and Beckett Higby; second graders Kassidy Lange and Laurel Urban; third-graders Dakota Svitak and Cohen Czarnick; fourth-grader Cannon Malena; fifth- grader Brantley Went; and sixth-grader Kyler Hoesly.

Congratulations to all of these deserving LCS students!
