JH Track Team Competes at Humphrey
On April 22, 2024, the Clarkson-Leigh Junior High track team traveled to Humphrey to compete and gave it their all.
During this track meet, the 7th grade girls received 3rd place, and the 8th grade girls placed 8th. The 7th grade boys placed 8th, and the 8th grade boys earned 8th place.
When asked about the track meet, Averi Clausen, a 7th grader from Leigh, said, “Monday, April 22nd was our track meet in Humphrey for the 2nd time. We all did really well for our second meet. Shot and disc went first and they all did great. Then it was all the jumping which went terrific. After all that we went into the running events. I did the 4x1 relay, 400, and the 100. All of our relay teams did great. Everybody improved significantly and the meet went very smoothly.”
Coach Seth Cash said, “Both the boys and girls came out and competed well. We are continuing to see individual improvements. There is still work to be done. We are still dialing in our relay teams and preparing our kids for conference.”
